For the past few years, we have been running an in-person workshop in Manchester. Following many requests, this year we have produced an on-line masterclass. We have been spending countless hours pouring out all our knowledge to camera, creating what we know to be the best ever Lawson Film School. Take in the knowledge at your own pace, and re-watch whenever you fancy.
With this online video course we’re sharing absolutely everything we do. Including: how we shoot, the thought process behind why we film people from a unique perspective, the subtle moments that are absolutely key to transforming the emotional impact of your films, how we grade, and finally, how we piece it all together in the edit.
We also review several of our films over the years. From our first attempt at filming a wedding 10 years ago, moving on to the film which defined our style, and then to deep examination of our recent work.
We hope this fills you with ideas and inspires you to smash the rest of your 2025 weddings. We’re an open book and we go in-depth into every section of the whole process to ensure we aren’t holding anything back.
For the first time, we are also including extra information for photographers starting their journey into making films. This is exactly the journey we took and heavily influences our work to this day.

Who we are
We are Pete & Laura. We started photographing weddings in 2005 and became one of the most sought after wedding photographer teams in the UK. In 2015 we began our journey into film making.
Within our first year we had won TWIAs ‘best videographer’ in our region - an award we went on to win 6 times, going on to win “best UK wedding Videographer” 3 times. We were honoured to be asked to become part of the judging panel in 2023. We have spoken at numerous events and conferences including Ninedots, Coda, Photography Farm, and The Photography Show at the NEC.
Our style is all about creating beautiful films with an emotional core. We want to help you do the same. Learn to let go of the safe, but less impactful, shots that rob your film of the powerful highs it could reach.
