As we emerge from the winter editing cave once again, we have been spending countless hours putting together the best ever Lawson Film School. Only this year, you don’t need to venture out of your house. Take in all the knowledge at your own pace, and re-watch whenever you fancy.
With this online video course we’re sharing absolutely everything we do. Including: how we shoot, the thought process behind why we film people from a unique perspective, the subtle moments that are absolutely key to transforming the emotional impact of your films, how we grade, and finally, how we piece it all together in the edit.
We also review several of our films over the years. From our first attempt at filming a wedding 10 years ago, moving on to the one where we found our style, to the wedding film that brings in the most work, and finally, our most recent wedding.
We hope this fills you with ideas and inspires you to smash the rest of your 2025 weddings. We’re an open book and we’re sharing all of our secrets.

Who we are
We are Pete & Laura. After starting photographing weddings in 2005 and building a successful and sustainable business in wedding photography, we transitioned into filming weddings in 2015.
Within our first year we had won TWIAs ‘best videographer’ in our region - an award we went on to win 6 times, including 3 national ‘best videographer’ awards. We were then lucky enough to be asked to become part of the judging panel in 2023.
Our style is all about creating beautiful films with an emotional impact. We want to help you do the same and learn to let go of the safe (but less impactful) shots that rob your film of the emotional highs it could reach. This is achieved both through how we shoot, and how we construct the edit (and being absolutely ruthless with selecting your footage).
